WUNDERKAMMER: New Paintings by Joshua Field

WUNDERKAMMER (Translation: Cabinet of Wonders) features recent paintings by Joshua Field. In Renaissance Europe, Wunderkammers were encyclopedic collections of natural objects that inspired wonder and curiosity. Similarly, Field's recent work explores poetic connections between disparate images and references a variety of sources including the Voyager spacecraft, which carried the Golden Record, a 12-inch copper disk containing sounds and images portraying life on Earth.

It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Kolok Gallery owner Kurt Kolok's life partner Joseph Conway. Kurt and Joe were involved in a tragic car accident on September 3rd in Staten Island, NY caused by a drunk driver traveling in the wrong direction. Although Kurt escaped with non-life threatening injuries, Joe was killed instantly. In addition to being an unfathomable loss in Kurt's personal life, Joe's warm smile and kind heart will be sorely missed by all.
